Who we are
AWHBXING was formed just over a year ago after attending a Katie Taylor fight in London, Wembley with the simple idea “what if I could do this.”
I have always had a love for boxing, training on and off since the age of nine, attending friends’ amateur fights and watching the elite pros. The sport always managed to grip me like no other sport.
It is no secret that the best in the world have very often come from some of the most underprivileged backgrounds and areas in the UK. As I started to get more involved in the boxing scene in Scotland, I wondered what I could do differently, to have the biggest impact on boxers, helping them in more ways than just providing financial support. This is what led to me starting AWHBXING.
The first boxer we sponsored was Dylan Smith out of John Whyte’s Alloa boxing club. I had heard lots about Dylan's talent, I attended his local home show on a semi-scouting mission and watched him out class and out preform a worthy aggressive opponent.
Since then, we have fifteen heavily sponsored boxers ranging in ages and experience through Scotland and England, just one thing in common, the love for the sport and bags of talent.
We decided very early on we wanted to provide our amateur boxers the tools, resources and support they needed to make it to the profession ranks. We work closely with their coaches and form strong lasting relationships with the boxers and their wider team. As a group of like-minded athletes, they are all striving to the top, and we are getting them there.
We have only just begun.
